Hampden Township Police Chief Steve Junkin went online to speak publicly against a respected township resident, Marcus Brown, who is currently employed as the Acting Commissioner of the Pennsylvania State Police. In his public statement, Chief Junkin said he would do, "Everything in my power to see that you don't wear the uniform of a PSP Trooper."
Chief Junkin's public statement makes clear that he is willing to put his passion for a uniform ahead of the personal well-being of a township resident.
The residents of Hampden Township need a police chief who supports the well-being of all residents first and foremost. His participation in the public railroading of a respected township resident undermines our trust in his ability to serve us all impartially. We call on the Township Commissioners to remove Chief Junkin from his leadership position and seek a chief who will bring to the job the professionalism that it requires.
