Two seniors at Southeastern High School have been cut from the basketball team and I want them to have the opportunity to prove that they can be incredible assets to the team. The basketball coach, Mr. Hecker, has treated these players unfairly. I am asking the students, parents and community to stand together and try to make a difference.

When making a determination about what is "right" for a team - heart and soul should always be considered. These kids, I can see it in them, they have a passion and love for the game. There are times when hard work beats talent and a few days of "try outs" cannot possibly prove to you what anyone is capable of. A good coach has the ability to make a great team out of good players. Mr. Hecker should embrace the opportunity to provide these two boys with the coaching and leadership they need to make the best of their final season. Cruelly cutting a senior from the team at the end of their high school career in a school the size of Southeastern does not make sense.
