We, the citizens of Hoopeston, petition the city to reinstate dispatching duties to our local dispatch center at the Hoopeston Police Department and do not support cutting of staff as a cost saving measure.

Dispatching duties done from within our town by personnel familiar withour citizens, local area and responders provides the fastest, safest, most reliable dispatch of our agencies during times of need. As in the past, we should have dedicated dispatchers who are ONLY responsible for OUR agencies, personnel and citizens. This provides a superior quality of service and safety which can't be achieved by a county-wide center responsible for 44 other agencies in the county.

Further, cutting staff as a cost saving measure unacceptably diminishes public safety, quality of service and the overall well-being of the citizens of Hoopeston.
