ive been reading through the stories people are sharing about chief washington and it really shows why this matters so much for our community. we are working on getting in front of the council to make sure they hear exactly what we have to say about this reassignment.

i cannot believe how much momentum is building behind this. seeing everyone come together for chief washington has been honestly overwhelming in the best way possible.

Bertral Washington being removed from his post is confounding. He’s long demonstrated an acumen and professionalism to navigate his position of leadership. He’s a role model for the youth and for all people of color. Thus, his removal should be re-evaluated with consideration for reinstatement.
I, as well as several of my business associates, believe the Mayor as well as the Pasadena City Council have acted in a very unprofessional manner which historically would be categorized as a " Racist Act" knowing very well that Chief Washington is highly qualified for his post. Please reinstate Chief B. youWashington as soon as possible!
There appears to be no legitimate unbiased reason for this reassignment. Chief Washington to my knowledge has done an EXCELLENT job and involves himself with the community. Chief Washington has invested in this community by purchasing a home, enrolling his children in Pasadena schools etc. The City Manager on the other hand has NEVER made such an investment or commitment in the 17 years that he has worked for this City. Do what is Fair and reinstate the Fire Chief immediately!
Reinstate the Chief - especially if there are no charges against him. Al Bailey
The city manager never consulting with members of the Pasadena city council regarding reassigning The True Fire Chief, not even to members of the Pasadena city council who are also on the safety committee should never have happened! If this is a truly warranted reassignment why is it that the city manager of the city of Pasadena continues to be silent and not apprise members of the council why he made the decision to reassign the True Fire Chief, continuing to remain silent when Mr. Hampton and Mr. Kennedy have asked for the information be shared with the entire council in private session... something is awry.
Reinstate Chief Washington.

Chief Washington has been an outstanding member of the community for numerous years. We hold the utmost respect for his deeds, service and commitment to all Pasadena residents and those outside the immediate perimeters of this City, when needed. He has demonstrated the required fulfillment of each and every emergency presented in the community on a daily basis; and, has accomplished numerous tasks given with precise decision making, concern for the outcome and a devout honor in upholding the ongoing reputation of the Pasadena Fire Department in getting the job done! We applaud his dedication in this role and need an individual with these qualities to continue servicing and enhancing the community each and every day!
