As most citizens of Berkeley County are aware, we are experiencing an epidemic of Herion usage, abuse and overdoses. This, as well as other drugs, including alcohol abuse is detrimental to the safety of our citizens, the economic growth of our community and is compromising the future of our children. Almost everyone in Berkeley County can honestly say their lives have been directly effected by substance abuse.

The proposed future location of a rehabilitation facility, 750 Baltimore St., Martinsburg Wv, is currently in danger of being repealed due to zoning issues.

Please take a moment to sign this petition to support the implementation of the rehab center at 750 Baltimore St.

Thank you for supporting a better Berkeley County!

The Rehabilitation Center is much needed in the area and that property is not in a good industrial zone anymore which means the building may just go to waste otherwise.

We NEED this in martinsburg ! There's SO many people with an addiction problem in martinsburg and no help for those who want it! Yes we have East Ridge but it's a month wait, and they go to a group to receive Suboxone strips to substitute the high. Its an epidemic and destroying martinsburg.

This is something this is very much so needed. I too suffer from addiction. There are no enough places for someone to go to when they decide to put an end to abusing drugs. I waited a year and a half to get into a program. Not many people can hold off and wait. People are reaching out for our help. Let's extend our arms and reach them back.

As a recovering addict and someone who has lost people to addiction, tearing down a facility where people can get help is traumatizing. No one shoud have to die of this disease ever again, and tearing down a place where recovery is limited is only making it harder for addicts to get help.

The closest state "detox" is 3 hours away from Martinsburg. This makes it virtually impossible for an addict at their bottom to make it there. To top it off they only have 10 beds and do not detox you from heroine ( the reason for the quotation marks). This facility is desperately needed.

If there was a place available for help in 2012/2013 my son could possibly still be alive. Please help our community so other families can get help from this horrible disease.
