There are far too many accidents, and some fatalities, on HWY 109 from Wild Horse Creek Road to HWY 44. This stretch of highway was originally a country road. The residential population has grown substantially. The speed limit needs to be reduced accordingly.

I have been reading your stories about near misses on this road and they are honestly heartbreaking. It is becoming clear that this is about more than just traffic flow because it is about the safety of our neighbors. Thank you for trusting me with your experiences while we push for these changes.

I’ve been rear-ended turning into Rosemar Lane and have seen several terrible accidents on 109 in recent years. Would be safer at boulevard speed!
50 mph is wayyyyyyy to fast when there are 4 schools on the 109a Babler, Lafayette, LaSalle and Eureka. Slow down the limit. Especially at night when there are NO street lights or in the rain. 50 is just a death sentence for anyone.
No doubt about it. The current speed limit is simply outdated.
Been saying this for past 10 years since moving here. It is insane and truly negligent that it has not been addressed and corrected.
I would like the speed to be 35 on 109 to make it safer for everyone.
MODOT - please make this road safer before we lose another life.

The number of accidents - even the regular minor ones - suggests change is overdue, but please, we don't need anyone else to die. The speed limit along here is just too high!
