Dear Mr. Braun and members of the Amherst Public Works Committee,
We the undersigned are grateful for your action in recent weeks with the closing of Rambling Road and Country Corners to the high volumes of cut-thru traffic related to the Atkins construction.
There has been a welcome and huge improvement in the volume of dangerous cut thru traffic, truck traffic, and reckless speeders, and we therefore respectfully request that consideration be given to leaving the barriers in place for an additional month.
Thank you for your crucial efforts in helping to protect the children and pedestrians of our neighborhood.
The quiet on our streets since the barriers were placed has been a massive relief for all of us living here. I am busy preparing further documentation for the Public Works Committee to explain exactly why keeping these routes closed is vital for our safety.

Seeing this level of support confirms that my neighbors are just as terrified for our children's safety as I am. This momentum proves the public is watching and expects these barriers to remain until the construction nightmare finally ends.

Please keep these up. It is so much safer to walk the dog now without those trucks flying down our street!

Total game changer for commuters who think our neighborhood is a highway. Keep them closed permanently.
