We, the undersigned residents and concerned individuals, urge the Williamson County Highway Department to immediately evaluate and address the dangerous intersection at Arno Road and Peytonsville-Arno Road.

This intersection is the site of frequent and serious accidents due to hazardous conditions:

1. A sharp curve on Arno Road heading northbound

2. A blind spot for eastbound drivers on Peytonsville-Arno Road

3. Lack of traffic control signage or signals on Arno Road

Currently, only a two-way stop controls traffic on Peytonsville-Arno Road, leaving Arno Road traffic uncontrolled. These factors create an ongoing and unacceptable public safety risk.

We respectfully request that the Highway Department:

A. Conduct a formal traffic study

B. Review accident history and traffic volume

C. Recommend and implement appropriate traffic control measures (e.g., additional signage, stop signs, rumble strips, or a 4-way stop)

Immediate action is needed to reduce the frequency and severity of collisions and to protect the lives of drivers, residents, and local families.

Updates

Project approved!

September 2, 2026

Thanks to your support, the work of the County Highway, and Collier Engineering, a project to build a roundabout at the intersection has been approved! A roundabout was chosen based on traffic volume and safety impact for similar rural locations. Traffic lights and stop signs were considered. Right-of-way is being acquired and utility companies (MTE, Horton Highway, and Milcrofton) will need to move their infrastructure before construction can begin in early '27. Thank you for your signatures and comments, which were entered into the record at the July 2025 Commission meeting.

We moved to Arno Allisona Road in 1978 from Brentwood. Our road was getting too dangerous. Back then, our "morning traffic " on Arno was only 5 cars. There was no I-840. Now the traffic zooms down to the crossroads, barely slowing down. It has become quite dangerous. Please help us.

I’ve seen so so many preventable accidents at this intersection. It’s extremely hard to see cross traffic when you’re at the stop signs because of the bend of the road. Please , please make this a four way stop.

As resident of Peytonsville Arno Rd for 30 years this intersection has become more and more dangerous everyday. Due to the amount of traffic and speed. If you can’t make it a four way stop at least patrol the intersection and control speeding through the area

Witnessed a few accidents. Very dangerous and not design to accommodate current traffic from all the development as well as construction vehicles.

In addition to intersection improvements, the sign on SW corner needs to be moved backb20 yards and the same corner needs re-mediation to have clear line of sight to the beginning of the curve on Arno Rd so sight line is improve when traveling east on ArnozPeytonsville to the intersection.

This intersection is so dangerous it needs a light or four way stop with better lighting. Cars are going way too fast and I as an experienced driver have almost gotten hit with three children in the car.

Witnessed too many traffic accidents at this intersection it just seems like common sense to put one in. If our leaders can’t figure it out, God help us all.
