The diesel train linking Kirkby to Wigan is one an hour,last train at 19-45.This service can only be described as better-than -nothing.Compare it to the Liverpool to Kirkby service,train every 15 minutes,staffed stations,sunday service and trains running to midnight.The argument is the return would not be worth the investmentWhat is needed is for sufficient people to support this petition by becoming train users if the two services where intergrated.This would give the people of Rainford,Upholland,Orrell and Pemberton a staffed station,for greater safety and confidence and the benefits of regular trains,including sundays.This linking of Liverpool and Wigan would provide income through consumer spending which in turn will create jobs.It is time for West Lanc's to have a service which is modern and meets the needs of the ever growing population and which will reduce its carbon foot print.
