The store managers finally agreed to pull those tiny cages from the shelves and update their animal care guidelines. I am honestly stunned that this shift happened so quickly and it is entirely because you kept pushing for better standards. Please keep an eye on their aisles to make sure …
A good majority of the habitats that pet stores sell are in no way suitable for their pets. 1 guinea pig (which should never be just one, because they’re herding animals!) needs at LEAST 7.5 feet of space! I couldn’t possibly fit how much false information pet stores give. These animals need the proper equipment to be happy, and taken care of! Please sign this!
I have been reading through the stories you all are sharing about your own animals and I am honestly overwhelmed by how much you care. This is entirely because of the compassion you bring to this issue. Your words keep me going when the reality of these small habitats feels hard to face.

I am honestly overwhelmed by how many people care about the wellbeing of these small animals. This momentum belongs entirely to you because I never thought this would reach so many people.

If it is in the store people assume it's ok, I did until I did more research and built my own cage.

I wish more people understood that you need a certain size of cage for your pets, and that most pet stores don’t provide the minimum size.

Pet stores should be legally responsible for selling the correct size housing for animals.

Pet store caves are often too small. Especially when it comes to hamsters. I will happily sign your petition!

This is SO important for guinea pigs to have the proper space. The only reason why I knew about space is because I joined a Facebook page which not everyone does.

Signed, and agreed. Pet stores need to take responsibility in the products that they stock, and should be refusing to stock dangerous, unsafe, unhealthy, and improper items. If they ARE going to sell small cages, they should indicate that they are for travel/temporary ONLY. I use my pet store cage for taking my piggies to the vets. They have a permanent C&C cage at home.

Please just take off homes for Guinea pigs. Put on the box hamsters/rats only.

It should be illegal for pet stores to sell anything that is contrary to the well being of an animal. Only Soulless greedy beings willingly make money off the suffering of others.
