We,The Undersigned, ask that the company ‘Pets at Home’ (formerly known as ‘Petsmart’) has its license revoked that allows them to sell live animals and birds.
We have a catalogue of incidents to report about the appalling state the animals are kept in, and the uncaring and badly trained staff which work in the stores.
Some of these bad experiences include the following:
Fish In Small Tanks That Clearly Should Be In Larger Ones
Mass Overcrowding
Infected/Diseased Fish
Dead Fish Left In Tanks Among Others
Dirty Tanks
The Sale Of Exotic Pets Which Are More For Proffesional Owners Only And Not The General Buyer.
Small Housing For Rodents. (4-6Hamsters in one Cage/tank is Far To Crowded)
These are mainly reports about Fish as I know a lot about them so know what to look out for. But I also know of reports of the bad condition of the birds and rabbits in stores too. The animals are treated like merchandise to sell rather than living creatures, and the staff lack the knowledge and experience to sucessfully answer customer queries about the animals they are buying. Unless some serious money is invested in the training of staff and improving the welfare of the animals they sell, they shouldn’t be allowed to sell any living creatures.

I am gathering reports from local stores and documenting the consistent neglect of these animals. Please email your local representative today to demand an inspection of these welfare conditions. We need to keep this pressure on the company until they stop treating living creatures like disposable stock.

its heartbreaking to see how cramped the cages are for the hamsters. nobody should be buying pets from a place like this.
Saw a parrot in tiny cage with no water and it looked so stressed. never shopping here again
Every time I go in there I see dead fish floating in the tanks. It makes me feel sick honestly they dont care about the lives at all
THEY DONT EVEN KNOW HOW TO CARE FOR A GOLDFISH PROPERLY. STAFF ARE CLUELESS AND JUST WANT YOUR MONEY
bad ethics and terrible training. they treat them like toys instead of living things.

Disgusting company that neglects animals whilst in their care, lies about it to sell them and sell inadequate products aimed at specific animals that are actually harmful
