We, the under-signed Sunnyvale residents, are writing to communicate our objection to Kimley-Horn Engineering Consultant's current recommendation to install a stoplight at Dartshire Way and Wolfe Road. Kimley-Horn believes that while a new stoplight at Dartshire will enable cars to safely turn left from Dartshire onto Wolfe Road, it will also further increase congestion along Wolfe Road and divert even more cars through neighborhood streets towards Homestead and Sunnyvale-Saratoga Roads as alternate routes to the heavily congested south-bound traffic on Wolfe Road between Dartshire and Homestead.
We agree that adding a third stoplight to the current lights at Marion and Inverness Ways will significantly increase the number of "cut-through" commuters rushing through Birdland and Ortega Park Neighborhoods. We agree that increased traffic through residential streets increases already unsafe conditions along many residential streets. Therefore, we request that you communicate our objection to the proposed Dartshire-Wolfe Stoplight to both Kimley-Horn and to City Council when final recommendations are made.

As a long time resident of Birdland I do not wish to encounter speeding drivers traveling through my neighborhood looking for a quicker route to other streets/freeway and endangering the lives of children, including my own, playing outside. Please keep our neighborhood safe and traffic free.
I am concerned regarding the potential significant increase of traffic in our neighborhood.
I support this petition.
It will be a total disaster to add the the stoplight that would only increase traffic thru the residential areas.
Too much traffic light will make traffic very bad.

I support the petition. Installing an additional traffic light at Dartshire and Wolfe would only serve to exacerbate the already dangerously high level of traffic in the local neighborhoods.

As long-time Birdland residents, we are against adding another traffic light on Wolfe between Fremont and Homestead. I thought the traffic study was supposed to come up with recommendations to IMPROVE the flow of traffic between these two intersections, not to further impede the flow. Starting next year, Wolfe will be torn up again to make way for the purple pipe to bring non-potable water to Cupertino/Apple Campus 2.
