As concerned parents with children within the year 1 cohort, we appeal to our school administration and board. There is a growing concern regarding the proposed plan to rearrange all classes within this group. It is well-documented that stability and consistency during early schooling years are crucial. According to a study by The Children's Society in the UK, changes in a child's school environment can cause stress and anxiety, potentially negatively impact their academic progress and emotional well-being (The Good Childhood Report, 2019). Given these potential ramifications, the decision should not be taken lightly. We urge the school to reconsider, and instead, respect and maintain the current classroom arrangements for children in the year 1 cohort, whilst also finding alternative ways to address the issues that have led to this decision. Please stand with us in prioritizing childhood stability. Sign the petition today.

The school administration thought they could quietly tear our children's classrooms apart because they assume we are too busy to fight back. This surge in support proves they are dead wrong and shows they can no longer ignore the families they are supposed to serve.

Disappointed with the way this has been handled - we have not been engaged or consulted with throughout the process especially when it concerns our children. We are keen to understand how the school has arrived as this being the only effective solution particularly when it involved disrupting 90 children. We are therefore opposed to the reshuffle.

My child has finally adjusted to his classmates, and reshuffling the class now will cause significant distress with long-lasting effects. My family and I strongly oppose this unnecessary action, and urge the school to table alternative solutions.

Totally against the shuffle and the way it has been dealt. Very unfair process and unilateral decision.

Reshuffling the entire Year 1 cohort would be highly disruptive and stressful for all 90 children. While I understand the need for a solution, I believe a more gradual, organic approach over the year would minimize disruption. Children, especially those with additional needs, thrive on routine, and this proposed change seems likely to create unnecessary chaos and stress. The school has built a strong reputation through collaboration between teachers and parents—let’s continue working together to find a solution that is both effective and far less disruptive.

I strongly oppose moving my daughter from her current happy environment to an unknown one.

totally opposed to this reshuffle of year 1. As my son Sai Patel had joined the school last year he just settled in this school. As SEN child this change will be very difficult for his sense of security, for his emotional and academic development. Reshuffle the entire year group at this stage could disrupt his progress.
