At Poly Prep Country Day School in Dyker Heights, New York the middle school girls are not allowed to wear leggings. A lot of the middle school girls struggle with this dress code because they are so accustomed to wearing leggings. Leggings are generally more comfortable and do not bother girls throughout the school day. But, the school calls them a "form of athletic wear" and that they also say that they are "too tight." A lot of girls complain saying their jeans are "uncomfortable" and "make them look fat" this is an unacceptable way to think during the school day. The administration at Poly Prep is watching us now and they cannot ignore the momentum we have built. We are proving that students refuse to be silenced by outdated dress codes that prioritize control over our comfort.

Leggings are way better than jeans. Why does the school care what we have on our legs? It is so stupid.
My sister is always complaining about the dress code. Just let them wear what they want it doesnt hurt anyone.

I'm doing this for sweat pants as well, it our right to be able to speak agonist what we feel is wrong so we can't get in trouble
