Citizens of Pleasanton and surrounding areas:

Did you know that the Pacific Coast Farmers' Market Association prohibits some vendors from selling certain produce while also protecting the monopoly on that produce other vendors have?

Ground Stew Farm, a vendor many people believe carries the highest-quality produce, was prohibited from selling their strawberries by the Pacific Coast Farmers' Market Association; when asked why, authorities made it clear that the reason was to protect the monopoly on strawberries other vendors had.

Not only do many people believe Ground Stew Farm has the highest-quality produce, but it is the only vendor I know of (and I ask each vendor I go to) that does not spray their produce with toxic pyrethrum-based insecticides derived from chrysanthemum daisies; instead, they plant flowers that are proven to divert insects around their produce. This is method is natural, effective, and improves the quality of the produce.

The Pacific Coast Farmers' Market Association artificially promotes the business of some vendors while diminishing the business of others, such as Ground Stew Farm.

I am asking everyone to sign this petition so that we, the residents of Pleasanton, may have the freedom to choose the vendors from which we will buy our produce, and let the free market decide which vendors will thrive.
