The market has been off Main Street behind The Colonial Theatre for 15 years. At a time when the farmers are busy preparing, they are needing to find a new suitable location. Finding a new location and communicating it to the public takes time and resources. In addition, the change would create less traffic and profitability, as change always does.
Keene is fortunate to have fresh local produce and locally made items easily available in one place. It is an important part in creating a strong, healthy, sustainable community. The efforts of the farmers and vendors must be supported, and this burden of relocating should be given ample time and thought.
Please sign this petition asking to keep the current location of the Farmer's Market for this season providing the proper time to make this change. This is important for those who are providing this valuable service and to the community of Keene.

I spent the afternoon speaking with several vendors who are deeply concerned about the logistical challenges of moving on such short notice. Their stories highlight how much this market relies on the consistent foot traffic of our current downtown location. We are currently preparing a formal request to the city council to revisit this timeline so that our local growers have a fair path forward.

Perhaps NGM will offer their parking lot that's mostly vacant on Saturdays to the Keene Farmers Market. With its location just across the street their would be little to no disruption for the farmers/producers and customers.
I think the powers that be were planning to pave the lot - have they looked at the REST of our fair city?! Let's leave the parking lot be; leave the market where it is, and work on some of the streets!
Please keep the market in its wonderful location - it is one a few the few really good additions to Keene's downtown of the past decade and it would be a true shame to see it move to a less centralized location.
The burden of this issue lies solely with the City of Keene for sloppy handling of critical information. Something of the magnitude of forced relocation should've been submitted to the market in writing no later than the end of last summer's market.
Hoping the City of Keene will postpone their parking lot revamp (perhaps until November 2015?) so that the Keene Farmers Market has time to find a new home and let customers know about the change of venue.

Hi, New to area, love shopping the FM in Keene...however, the market NEEDS a permanent home and a main city parking lot is not the place! I had heard the Ashoulot River Park has a parking lot not being used (behind Elm City Bagels), that would work.... it could be permanent! Why not try here??
