Petition for Pilot Butte Town Office to Stay at Current Location

We, the citizens of the town of Pilot Butte, petition the members of council and town administration to maintain their current office space and refrain from moving to the new strip mall.
Our concerns include the financial burden for the cost of rent of $4,000 per month plus the $178,000 required for the renovation of the space. In addition, the agreement that the town is seeking with the landlord by providing snow removal in exchange for a rental reduction does not compensate for the costs the town will incur for the wages and equipment needed to perform this work. Currently, the town does not pay a rental fee and this fiscal addition is proposed at a time when residents are taxed by the overall costs incurred for the water project.
Additional large ticket fiscal spending such as this is relevant to the town residents.
As tax payers of Pilot Butte, we demand that the members of council and the Town of Pilot Butte administration do not sign an agreement to rent space at the strip mall and maintain office space at their current location.

Enough is enough, why pay 4 grand rent a month and close to 200k for fitting out. The taxpayers are sick of fiscally absurd proposals like this. Use the strip mall to bring money into the town, not pay it out
We have facilities for our town employees now. There is no guarantee that this new strip mall will be successful.....what happens if town office does go to the strip mall and the strip mall goes belly up. What happens to our town offices then? Back to the old building? Stay where you are!
The strip mall was supposed to be for businesses....our town is growing and need businesses to help our town keep money and residents here!!...This is so stupid! Think people!
as a soon to be citizen of pilot butte, and knowing what my taxes are already going to cost due to the water project and the park, i would have to agree with not doing this. My taxes are already going to be higher than what I pay in a city!
Why would there not been offices incorporated in the new Water Treatment Plant. Renting is a loose, loose, proposition. Boy and it being kept a secret, any money flowing here?

I am in agreement with you where the town needs to have a non-confidence vote regarding the councillors. But more importantly people of this town need to vote. Voter turn out is quite low for municipality elections... so when persons do not take a closer look at the candidates, this is the type of governance we are given. The voters are the ones who make the council. Like the saying goes, "we reap what we sow", and right now we have a lot of bad weeds governing our Town. And we need to have them pulled out.

Very disappointed/not surprised that a petition has to be brought forward to hold council responsible for their proposed mall rental actions. What is the need and what would happen to current office space? There is too much of a lack of consultation by council and administration to the taxpayers.
