The current Elkhorn administration has voted and is in the design planning process of building a new $4-6 million city hall south of Elkhorn in the industrial park. We believe this is the decision of a few and not the voice of the community to wasteful spending during unprecedented times. Our community has not paid off current luxury projects and has other safety relevant programs we could address. This petition is to ask our leaders to stop the current project for 180 days, deal with the upcoming financial challenges responsibly to support our current infrastructure, businesses, and effected community members. We the ask to reassess how to gain community support for an appropriate path forward through listening sessions, proposals, and a community referendum vote.

Seeing this level of support reminds me that I am not the only one concerned about our city council ignoring our financial reality. It is heartening to know that neighbors see the same danger in this project that I do.

The city just bought St. Pats school which I agree with, but building a new city hall with what we are going through is not something that should be done at this time. There are a lot of people who cannot afford more taxes.

No need at this time. Plus we already add more to property taxes for the schools were If rather pay more. There is already a building not being used to its fullest across the street! Lets be smart with the money and fix what really needs to be fixed!

The city doesn't need to build another facility. The DPW building is overkill and the services should remain downtown. This is a poor decision with city tax dollars.

The responsible course is to focus on our businesses and residents who are suffering setback in these unprecedented times. The need for a new building pales in comparisons to the needs of this community who are out of work and unable to pay their bills.

City should be worried about our businesses in this time of need instead of fancy office to sit in! My property taxes are already 10k a year!

We need responsible spending at a critical time for our community and for that matter country. I fully support a 180 day halt on the new facility. These are unprecedented times.

This is not necessary. I am tired of my taxes going up for frivolous spending
