The City Parks and Recreation Board officially approved the funding for the additional courts and park infrastructure this morning. We are now shifting our focus to monitoring the procurement process to ensure the construction timeline remains on track.

The Parks and Recreation Board has finally confirmed a meeting to review our proposal for the court expansion. I am currently finalizing the project budget documents to present to the board members next week.

Signed & Supported. Should become a high priority for the city. No other recreational sport improves a city's quality of life, health of population, and economics more than Pickleball. (based on observation and personal experience). City officials: please prioritize and achieve these goals. If in doubt, I encourage you to come down to Brittlebank during Pickleball play, and see what it's all about.
More players require more courts. The Greater Terre Haute Pickleball Association payed to have six courts at Brittlebank Park resurfaced. We need help from the city of Terre Haute to build more courts.
I was born and raised in the city of Terre Haute. I started playing the great sport of pickleball 5 years ago. Terre Haute has the chance to be the home to some great tournaments, but right now it is hard with the limited space. It would be great to have these improvements made.
This is a great sport for people of all ages that is truly growing. Would love to see Terre Haute support it more and remember that tournaments bring in revenue
This a sport for all ages. I have been playing for less than a year and have never met a stranger. My kids come and play and I get beat everytime I go by retired people. A life long sport.
Pickleball is a growing sport that has a strong future nationwide. I have watched practice sessions at Brittlebank Park (photographed a few) and I was amazed as to how many people in Terre Haute play it. As a former Tennis player, I look forward to learning the game and participating. We recently stayed at a RV resort in Southern Florida where the pickle ball courts were a big draw. Pushing out the shuffleboard crowd :) As we work to improve the quality of life in Vigo County, investing in improving Brittlebank Park as a premier pickle ball facility will pay big dividends for our community as a whole. As a public office holder, I recognize how tight budgets are. Many taxpayers utilize the park-so for me its a positive investment. When the County purchased the former IP property near the Wabash River, I thought an ideal use for it was a national caliber pickleball facility. It is something we can still do.
The pickleball club has paid for the costliest improvements at Brittlebank Park. We need the city to help with the next phase.

Pickleball is the fastest growing sport in the United States. We have a great group of players in Terre Haute, but if we don't get more courts players are going to go elsewhere.
