Stand with us in challenging the City of Statesville to support Pickleball by providing safe courts at Caldwell Park. These courts are not only in poor condition, they are unsafe! Although the Parks & Recreation Department Director has stated that he is aware of the issues, the courts continue to be ignored. Yet, the City continues to spend money on the tennis courts, which often stand unused, while the Pickleball courts are in use from early morning and into the evening hours many days. A balanced approach to court renovation that recognizes the degree that the Park's facilities are currently used is only logical. Pickleball needs to be given the same priority as tennis players. The pickleball courts get far more use than the tennis courts and deserve to be repaired.
I have played at these courts before they were permanent PB courts! Such a great place to meet and play with people!!! I am a member of the original group that donated money and would have loved to see them kept up!!! The Tennis courts are always empty….so sad…..
The courts need to be as safe as possable. A liability lawsuit will cost much more then the repairs and improvements!
Statesville is my hometown and as a kid, I grew up at Caldwell park. I am in full support for there to be better maintenance and care given to the pickleball courts!
The stairs leading down to courts is crumbling and dangerous and the bank bleeds down onto the courts and creates debris and dirt.
Please please fix these for us!!!
The courts are such an embarrassment to Statesville.

I play PB regularly at Caldwell Park, the courts have deteriorated to a degree that there are safety issues. This is unfortunate and unacceptable. While the tennis courts are getting resurfaced, the hundreds of PB players are dodging cracks and holes on the courts. Please take action soon to ensure the citizens of Iredell County can stay safe and enjoy this ever growing sport.
