Tameside MBC has officially confirmed the relocation of the BEN scheme away from Ryecroft Hall. I am now transitioning my focus to monitoring the site restoration process to ensure the building and park are managed according to the new agreement.
We the undersigned wish to express our support for an alternative option for the BEN scheme, currently being run out of Ryecroft Hall Library. We support the service, but believe the current building is unsuitable, not only for the service users but for the park and hall.
I have submitted a formal request for a meeting with the Tameside MBC Cabinet to present the specific concerns regarding the current facility usage. While I await a confirmed time, I am drafting a briefing document that details the logistical limitations of the Hall and the potential impact on the park environment.

The petition just reached 100 signatures. I am now preparing a formal summary of these concerns to deliver to the Tameside MBC Cabinet ahead of their next scheduled review.

I understand that we have to help the homeless but why put this on a site that houses a children’s playground and also a Playgroup? At lot of mums/grandparents have felt intimidated by men in bushes trying to approach them

Whilst I have the utmost sympathy for the people involved
The council should have informed the people of Audenshaw before giving this facility for this purpose
It’s wholly unacceptable to have this in a children’s playground

Ryecroft hall was left by its original owners to the people of audenshaw don't think it's appropriate for homeless use I am aware something needs to be done but a better place could be found that's not as near to a children's playground

In the short time this site has been used for the service, major concerns for the Health & Safety of our children and local residents have been highlighted. Common sense must prevail and move the service to an area more suited for its purpose.

This bed for a night idea is great, but would be better placed in unused shops/offices in the city centre. Not near to a kids park and residential area. I imagine if this was in Wilmslow, Hale or Prestbury it would not have been up and running for 12 months!

Totally support the scheme and hope in continues to help people in need. However the decision to house people under the influence of alcohol and drugs in such close proximity children’s park is inexcusable, I’m sure Manchester has a more suitable locations for these people to stay.

Too close to playground. No common sense used by Council choosing this location. Seen many drinking alcohol and up to no good around Local McDonalds, canal & playing fields.
