we did it and the charter for westinghouse penn arts academy is officially approved. its amazing to think about the kids who will finally have a place to create in our community. thank you for sticking with me while we pushed to move this forward.

Final supporters
Westinghouse Penn Academy of Arts Board of Directors is looking to form a Performing Arts and Creative Arts charter high school. The school is located in Wilmerding, Pennsylvania and is open enrollment for students in all school districts.
The school will promote art and education, as well as, introduce art programs into the community.
Along with academic instructors, the Academy will also employ teaching artists, where students can learn the most cutting edge art disciplines. The artists will include professionals in music, theater, dance, media, visual, and literary arts.
Westinghouse Penn Arts Academy will also strive to make seminars and workshops available to the students of East Allegheny School District in the future.
The overall goal is to establish grades 9th through 12th.
The following signatures will be included in our application to achieve charter school status in the school district of East Allegheny.
I, the undersigned, support the establishment of the Westinghouse Penn Arts Academy which will be a charter school focusing on the arts and will be located in Wilmerding, Pennsylvania in the former Westinghouse School.

Great idea. Bringing life back into the old building and teaching kids new skills is a win win for everyone.
KEEP THE ARTS ALIVE
The local schools really lack in these programs. It is about time we had a place where talented kids can learn from actual professionals.
This would be so good for the area. We need more options for kids who aren't into sports and want to focus on their music.
Finally something for the arts in wilmerding. The old building needs to be used for something like this.

My son loves drawing and this would change his whole outlook on school. Hope this gets approved!
