I declare that I am a resident of the Philadelphia School District, that I am eighteen (18) years of age or older, that I am signing this Petition, and that I knowingly include my name, address and signature on this Petition to:
1.Support the School District of Philadelphia's approval of the Application for a Charter School of the String Theory Charter School - Southeast to open in the 2015/2016 school year with full knowledge of this Petition; and
2.Appeal the 2014/2015 decision of the Philadelphia School District School Reform Commission to reject the application of the String Theory Charter School - Southeast to establish a charter school in the Philadelphia School District in the 2015/2016 school year with full knowledge of this Petition.

I have been meeting with parents who are just as frustrated as I am by the lack of quality options in our neighborhood. We are currently preparing our formal appeal to challenge this rejection because our children deserve better than the status quo.

Seeing this kind of movement confirms how many of us are desperate for better options for our children. It is overwhelming to realize that so many families in our neighborhood care this deeply about the future of our local schools.

We need more options for the kids in this neighborhood. String theory is a great school and it should be allowed to expand.
the district is failing our kids. stop blocking new schools that actually work!
My niece goes to the other campus and she loves it. Why keep more Philly families from getting the same opportunity? Totally unfair.
PLEASE approve this. The current public schools around here are just falling apart.
about time we get some decent charter spots in 19147. stop the red tape and open the doors.

So frustrated with the SRC decisions. Let the parents decide where their kids go.
