We the undersigned propose:

1) Wave surfing should be restricted to the main channel of the lake when the water level is above 1126.

2) Wave surfing should not be allowed in coves that are less than 1500 feet across when there are docks on opposite sides of the cove.

3) Wave surfing should not be allowed within 500 feet of any dock.

These restrictions are necessary because wave surfing on Beaver Lake is out of control. There are no restrictions for this activity regardless of the water level or location on the lake.

This activity is causing significant erosion when the water level is above 1126. The shoreline is receding more rapidly and more trees are falling into the lake. Also, additional nutrients are being swept into the water that must be filtered out by The Beaver Lake Water District at added cost.

This activity is causing thousands of dollars of damage to numerous docks. Docks on Beaver Lake are not constructed to withstand the tremendous waves created by this activity on a continual basis, weekend after weekend.
