The Timberidge Board of Directors, members and neighbors hereby request that the Corp of Engineers make Yellow Creek a NO WAKE ZONE. The Timberidge community dock is on Yellow Creek and the heavy wake surfing traffic is not only causing major erosion to the shoreline but docks in the area have reported damages due to large wakes generated by wake surfing. The Timberidge Board requested a no wake zone in the past stemming from the concern of a potential community dock accident due to the increased boat traffic (wake surfing, wake boarding, tubing, etc.) but was denied by the Corp.

On 7/25/20 a wake boat ran into the TOL community dock, rendering it unuseable for the entire community for months. Luckily no one was seriously injured. However, this incident proves the TOL Board of Directors concerns were in fact warranted. The signatures below petition the Corp of Engneers to reconsider changing Yellow Creek into a no wake zone starting at the Chestatee River.

We thank you, in advance, for your attention to this matter.

Updates

July 28, 2020

The Corp of Engineers continues to ignore the blatant damage and safety hazards caused by these wake boats. I have been gathering more evidence of the shoreline erosion and recent dock repairs to force them to stop looking the other way.

July 28, 2020

The Corp of Engineers has ignored our safety concerns for far too long. This surge in support proves they can no longer pretend the reckless wake surfing on Yellow Creek is acceptable.

There definitely needs to be a no wake zone thru there.....you have the community dock...but also the boat ramp...I think most boat ramps on Lanier are protected by a no wake zone...

In addition to damage people on kayak's and paddle board's are at risk from reckless boating.

Signing this petition for a No Wake Zone in our cove.. Too many wake boats in and out and jet skis coming very close to our community dock. As of this pass weekend our dock was hit and great damaged done. Thankful no one was hurt! Our shores lines are taking a beating also...

For safety sale we need a no wake zone. Also ban "wake boats".They are eroding the shoreline at a rapid pace and damaged boats and docks.

Our cove is narrow and a busy. The majority of boaters ignore the 100ft. rule. We need a no wake zone in our cove.

We have had ongoing issues around docks and the boats that use our slips get so beat up from the waves. Now we have a bigger issue where a boat hit our dock. We are very lucky no one was killed or injured. Please please please consider giving us a no wake zone for our docks at timberidge. Thank you and blessings! Brenda Burke
