Dear Fellow Users of Big Cedar Lake,
As many of you know there is some momentum and discussion within the Big Cedar Lake PRD and community at large to ban and/or restrict the use of wakeboats on Big Cedar Lake. In January a presentation was given to the PRD and distributed to the home owners assocaiation asserting many false conjectures about wakeboats harming the shorelines and ecosystem of BCL. At the Febru meeting, a rebuttal presentation refuting all of these untruths was given in an attempt to set the record straight on facts, or lack thereof in their case. Subsequently, during the March meeting, the United States Geological Service gave their yearly presentation regarding the health of BCL and also disproved all of the assertions that the lake was facing negative environmental impacts. They found BCL to be as healthy as ever including year over year drops in phosphorus levels, as well as algae, and water clarity has never been better.
This petition is being distributed with the hope that we can show the PRD just how much support there is for wake boats and, just as importantly, that any kind of ban or restriction on the water of BCL is not acceptable without a significant amount of proof of damage or destruction. This kind of rhetoric can create a slippery slope with no end in sight.

Wakeboats are such a beauty, if they get banned BCL will be an absolute pigeon of a lake.
All boats make a wake. Sailboat, wakeboard boat, ski boats, tubing boats, kneeboard boats, RC car boats, paddle boats, fishing boats. Why are wakeboard boats being targeted as environmental hazards for Big Cedar lake? I grew up on that Lake and we've wakeboarded since 1987. We've been wakeboarding behind sea rays, Boston whalers, putt-putts, actual wakeboard boats. What's next? Are they going to try to stop the wind from making white caps? How can the complaint against wakeboard boats have any merit whatsoever?
I would like to see more evidence on the negative impacts of wakeboats before a restriction on them is created
I support the use of all watercraft in a safe and reasonable manner. Without clear data proofing causation (I’ve heard no mention of invasive species or other potential cause for erosion) simply eliminating surf boats is wrong. Even if there were a clear cause, it’s not the boat but the activity. A compromise would be more reasonable than an outright ban!
The lake is big enough for everyone to enjoy! If you don’t like waves don’t live on a lake or go kick it on the north side of the lake. Ryan Slane
WAVES ARE SCARY FOR SOME OF THE RESIDENTS OF BCL. They are also scared of their own farts and their hair getting messy. These are the type of people that can't cut their own lawn or put in their own pier... basically their heads are so far up their asses that they have no clue what they're actually talking about. We all know who these people are that want this ban to go through. For this to be an issue is absolutely asinine! Clown unit for life! Mr Bungle!

I always think about how awesome it would be to whip out my mastercraft and then I remember this rule. Would bring some real happiness if it was changed
