Petition of the parents of Basis Baton Rouge students.
We are urging the school to reopen under a parents choice option. If some Families are worried about the reopening then they get to choose to do distance learning. But the group this petition represents only want the option to send their children back to school.
You promised that parents wouldn't need to be teachers during school time. That is completely incorrect. This system is failing. The kids stare at a screen all day, they do not get to socialize. They are suffering the most. While everyone hides from the virus, our children are hurting the most. School needs to reopen immediately. The names below are signed by concerned parents. Our children's lives shouldn't be a guessing game. They belong in school, not staring at a screen all day.

OPEN THE DOORS. Enough is enough. If people are scared let them stay home but give us the choice to get our kids back in a classroom.
let them go back to school already. the private schools are open so why are we still doing this.
My 3rd grader is losing his mind staring at a laptop 6 hours a day. He’s not learning anything and his mood has been horrible.
Virtual learning was not my or my son's choice and it has negatively impacted his mental, emotional and physical health.
Dallas (2nd) we just want him to be back in school with his friends and actually learning.

My kids are miserable at home. They need their teachers and they need to see their friends. This virtual thing is just not working for us at all.
