The aim of this petition is to highlight the daily hazard that is crossing anywhere at 14th Ave and E. Pine St. This petition will be submitted to the Seattle DOT.
I started this petition after witnessing an accident at this street corner in August. I am aiming to ask for stronger visibility of the STOP signs, including flashing lights, and early pedistrian crossing signs.
The momentum behind this push proves the city cannot ignore the danger at 14th and Pine any longer. Post the link to your Facebook timeline and email the Seattle DOT representative for our district today.

I regularly see westbound drivers on Pine go through the stop sign at this intersection. In some cases, tall parked vehicles obscure their view of it.

I live just a few blocks from here. This whole area needs redesign to slow drivers down. When people do stop for stop signs, they aren't looking for people on foot or they bully their way into the intersection or crosswalk.

Not only is there safety issues there is ZERO penalty for striking a pedestrian or cyclist. I would know because it happened to me and the penalty? A 124 dollar ticket for a moving violation. Check out "vulnerable user law" if you want to leave more about laws that try to levy actual fines or traffic school (like a drunk driver would be forced to do) for this type of offense. If we want to call ourselves a "green" city we need to have a safe environment for cyclists and pedestrians.

Resident at 15th and Pine. I cross this intersection 2-4 times/day and am nearly hit by careless drivers several times per week.

I live on 14th, few blocks off of East Pine St. I see more cars (and bikes) running thru this four way stop sign. There needs to be more visibility in the form of a crosswalk sign or flashing lights.

I witnessed a horrible accident where a woman was barreled into by a truck at this site last week. The signage nerds to be improved.
