We should be prioritizing pedestrian safety, especially in our city's most walkable neighborhoods.

Capitol Hill is awash in people on foot and bike and its transportation network needs to acknowledge that their safety is paramount.

I regularly see westbound drivers on Pine go through the stop sign at this intersection. In some cases, tall parked vehicles obscure their view of it.

I've lived in the neighborhood for seven years and strongly agree that many of the intersections along the upper stretch of Pine are dangerous for pedestrians, cyclists, and drivers alike.

I used to live nearby, and walking was 90% of my transportation. Always felt like crossing the street around here was a little more dangerous than it needed to be.

I live in the neighborhood - and this is one of many intersections that need to prioritize people walking and biking. Thanks for starting the petition!

I live just a few blocks from here. This whole area needs redesign to slow drivers down. When people do stop for stop signs, they aren't looking for people on foot or they bully their way into the intersection or crosswalk.

Not only is there safety issues there is ZERO penalty for striking a pedestrian or cyclist. I would know because it happened to me and the penalty? A 124 dollar ticket for a moving violation. Check out "vulnerable user law" if you want to leave more about laws that try to levy actual fines or traffic school (like a drunk driver would be forced to do) for this type of offense. If we want to call ourselves a "green" city we need to have a safe environment for cyclists and pedestrians.

Resident at 15th and Pine. I cross this intersection 2-4 times/day and am nearly hit by careless drivers several times per week.

I live on 14th, few blocks off of East Pine St. I see more cars (and bikes) running thru this four way stop sign. There needs to be more visibility in the form of a crosswalk sign or flashing lights.

I witnessed a horrible accident where a woman was barreled into by a truck at this site last week. The signage nerds to be improved.

It's time to act. Cars and pedestrians can co-exist, but we need to increase visibility!
