The best people to initiate the development of a community is its stakeholders. We're thus motivating each other to support this petition for the ff:

  • Construct the second carpark at the other side of the rail lines. Why? (a) The current car park is too small as one can’t find a space there in some of the days. (b) Some commuters are forced to cross the rail tracks to catch the train because of the long detour to the carpark at the other side of the rail, something which endangers their lives. We should not wait for an accident to occur before fixing this issue. Donnybrook Hotel threatens towing of car if one parks around the hotel to catch the train. Please this issue on car parking is urgent.
  • Avoid 2-coach trains during peak hours. In some of the days, the train runs with only 2 coaches during peak hours, discomforting commuters. Also, the train frequency from Donnybrook to the city, i.e. 7.50am, 8.18am and 9am, may be reviewed. One who misses the 8.18am one must wait for over 40 minutes. The schedule of the bus route plying between Donnybrook and Craigieburn stations can be improved. E.g. The bus can depart after the train so that those who miss the train can use the bus to catch train at Craigieburn.
  • Modernise the Donnybrook train station and remove the level crossing as the number and size of the communities sharing the station are growing fast. A better train station will also de-ruralise Donnybrook & environs.
  • Erect footpaths between estates and Donnybrook station: people walk along the road quite close to the drive lanes in the dark. Such people can be hit my motorists.

The petition will be sent to the ff people/leaders:

  • Mr. Danny Pearson (Minister for Transport Infrastructure & Suburban Rail Loop,
  • Mr. Colin Brooks (Minister for Development)
  • Mr. Rob Mitchell (MP for McEwen Electorate)
  • Mr. Craig Lloyd (CEO, City of Whittlesea)
  • Ms. Debbie Wood (Director, Infrastructure & Environment, City of Whittlesea)
  • Ms. Lydia Wilson (Chair, City of Whittlesea Council Admin)
