If finding a parking space at Sunbury train station is a problem for you then may i please ask you to sign this petition.
As you are all aware, if the train you plan to tavel on, leaves after 7 am and you need to drive to the station, then finding a place to park when you get there is non existent.
This is a major problem that Needs urgent attention.
Being told to drive to Diggers rest station where there are more spaces is not an acceptable solution to the problem.
There are lots and lots of new houses and eststes being built and our population is growing more and more every day whi h is great to see but this is putting more and more strain on all our towns facilities and heightening the demand for more spaces. This problem then adds to things like road congestion and the local retailers suffering as it drives customers elsewhere for their shopping.
This issue was on a town plan agenda back in 2008 and 8 years later still nothing has been done about it,
Sunbury's residents deserve better than this.

I spent this morning circling the overflowing station lot and watching commuters drive away in frustration just like I have for years. I am currently reaching out to local council members to demand they revisit the stalled plans from over a decade ago. Your stories about how this commute impacts your families prove that we cannot keep waiting for them to notice what is happening at our tracks.

Seeing this kind of momentum feels like a weight finally lifting off my shoulders. It confirms that my daily struggle to find a spot is a shared frustration that our town can no longer ignore.

More parking is needed for rail commuters, business owners & employees and shoppers in Sunbury. Sunbury is missing a great opportunity to capture shoppers from the Macedon Ranges region who bypass Sunbury to shop elsewhere because our parking and traffic is a mess. This impacts business growth and employment opportunities for our youth and families.
I have to drive to Diggers Rest to get a parking spot if I catch the train after 7am. Diggers is filling up fast too with the new estates. We need more parking spaces in Sunbury for train travellers. Why are there some spots that remain empty for permit holders? How does one get a permit? I heard they for out fo towners to park. Is this true?
We are currently building in Sunbury. I will be catching the train at 7.30. There are more and more developments going up, council revenue must be increasing. What logical reason could there be not to address this issue. Its only going to get worse.
The car park is full by 7.30am! But the empty Sunbury Square parking is fenced off by security guards. Why can't commuters park here when the spots stay empty throughout the day?
Sunbury was promised 100 extra car spaces when the line was electrified in 2010. These never happened and Sunbury has continued to grow. If Sunbury is planned to grow further we need more station carparks NOW!
More houses mean more people. How will these people pay for their houses if they can't get to work?!
There is a confusing and badly signed mixture of parking zones behind the station. Not good enough!

parking badly needed. Grasslands site Evans Street should be used for a 'Park, Pay and Ride' shuttle to station as is used in many places in UK
