The city finally acknowledged that our neighborhood belongs with Chatsworth and they have officially approved the boundary shift. I am deeply moved that our rural home will remain protected by the community plan that actually understands our way of life. Thank you for staying by my side while we pushed …

We the undersigned concerned citizens and the residents of West Hills (north of Roscoe Blvd and west of Valley Circle Blvd) request that the Los Angeles Department of City Planning remove our area of West Hills (indicated on map) from the proposed boundary change in the Canoga Park-Winnetka-Woodland Hills-West Hills Community Plan. We respectfully request that our neighborhood remains in the Chatsworth-Porter Ranch Community Plan. Please understand that our area's geographic location, cultural needs, and rural lifestyle have always been far more congruent and in harmony with the Chatsworth-Porter Ranch Community Plan and the Chatsworth Lake Manor Community.

You should also know that the West Hills Neighborhood Council proposed these changes without consulting the affected residents in this area.

We also request that the Board of Neighborhood Commissioners move the West Hills Neighborhood Council boundaries at the same location into the Chatsworth Neighborhood Council boundaries and jurisdiction, with the additional inclusion of the entire Chatsworth Nature Preserve. This is due, primarily, to the fact that our needs are fundamentally different from those of West Hills south of Roscoe Boulevard. Residents in this neighborhood will retain their West Hills addresses, but the Chatsworth Neighborhood Council will undoubtedly be able to better serve and understand our needs.

Please place your street address or just street name in comments if you live in the northwest area of West Hills.

I have spent hours reading through your comments and it is clear that many of you feel as ignored by our current council as I do. We are gathering everything we need to prove that our rural lifestyle is a separate entity that belongs in the Chatsworth plan. Your stories about being left out of these decisions are the fuel we need to keep pushing for this shift in boundaries.

Seeing this kind of momentum confirms that the people living here feel just as ignored by the council as I do. My family chose this spot for the quiet rural life and knowing you all feel the same way about protecting our home gives me so much hope.

There is no valid reason to alter the current Chatsworth-Porter Ranch Community Plan. The West Hills Neighborhood Council and the Canoga Park-Winnetka-Woodland Hills-West Hills Community Plan have nothing in common with this rural town community. SIGN THE PETITION TO STOP THIS NOW!

Ehlers Dr. CLM The nature preserve is part of Chatsworth Lake Manor/ Chatsworth. Its needs are met and fought for by this community. It does not fit in with the area that is being proposed. Our community holds that preserve dear to our hearts and will fight to take care of it. The changes you propose are unacceptable for this area.

The CHATSWORTH Nature Preserve is a part of Chatsworth’s and Chatsworth Lake Manor’s history and identity. They have been a part of Chatsworth for as long as Chatsworth has been Chatsworth. To remove it from our communities is an insult to our heritage and ancestors.

Many areas of Chatsworth are zoned equestrian, and therefore still have a rural feel that is not the case for most of West Hills.

I have lived in Lake Manor for more than 35 years and heartedly reject including the Chatsworth reservoir and the Chatsworth nature preserve into the proposed West Hills community plan. The minute you drive north of Roscoe you know that you are in a different community… my community.

The Chatsworth Nature Preserve is a central party of Chatsworth Lake Manor and it's history for decades...we are the stewards of its beauty, creatures and wildness...as a RESIDENT of CLM, I am in staunch opposition of the attempt of the WHNC to obtain this land as "theirs"...we in CLM stand united to keep our precious preserve in harmony with the only place that appreciates its beauty and uniqueness

West Hills, in Box Cyn. Not in favor of the proposed plan!! The nature preserve should remain in the proper hands of Chatsworth Lake Manor/ Chatsworth. It belongs here and is beloved to our area!! It doesn’t belong anywhere else!
