We, the undersigned residents and concerned drivers of the NW Portland area, urge the City of Portland and PBOT’s Traffic Safety Division to install a speed camera along NW Skyline Blvd between NW Thompson and the intersections of NW Reed Drive and Ramsey.
This stretch of road has a dangerous blind corner and a history of near-miss incidents for residents turning left out of NW Reed Drive. With 73 homes in our Panavista Park neighborhood, pedestrian and driver safety is a serious and ongoing concern.
A speed camera would serve as a deterrent to habitual speeders, increase safety for residents, and provide an effective, revenue-positive enforcement measure for the City.
We respectfully request immediate review and prioritization of this location for a speed camera installation.
Our driveway is at the intersection of Skyline and Springville Road, the location of many accidents and near misses. Our mailbox has been hit on three occasions by vehicles attempting to avoid collisions. We welcome intervention by the city to address speeding on all of Skyline. This is a good start.
