​Petition for Speed Camera Installation on NW Skyline Blvd between NW Thompson and NW Reed Dr/Ramsey

The Springville Entrance to Forest Park is also an extremely busy and blind intersection with Skyline, as there are many visitors to Forest Park every day, and there is no Stop Sign on Springville which is a side street, entering Skyline which is the arterial. PBOT should add one. Twice in the past few years, speeding cars have lost control and sheared off the power pole at this intersection. One car that crashed also sheared off the fire hydrant. In addition to this request, it would be great to have a camera or traffic control device near the two intersections of Springville and Skyline to help slow the traffic at these dangerous and blind intersections. I absolutely support adding a camera between NW Thompson and NW Reed Dr, and any other methods to reduce speeding on Skyline.

Stop the racers on skyline!

So many people drive too fast on skyline and Germantown - putting themselves and others at risk. Please help control the speed

Our driveway is at the intersection of Skyline and Springville Road, the location of many accidents and near misses. Our mailbox has been hit on three occasions by vehicles attempting to avoid collisions. We welcome intervention by the city to address speeding on all of Skyline. This is a good start.

Agree on the stated risk at that location, and speed all along Skyline in an on-going issue. I live at Springville and Skyline where there is another blind intersection where speeding greatly increases the accident risk to cars coming up the hill from from the west must stop and then attept to safely pull onto Skyline, especially when headed North.

Groups of people on motorcycles and in fancy sports cars constantly race on Skyline every day that it isn't raining. It's super dangerous and irritating. You would do well to place a camera between Germantown and Cornelius Pass as well since these people often stage at the vacant lot at Skyline and Germantown and race from there in either direction, sometimes in the middle of the night. I would welcome any interventions the city cares to make to discourage this.

We live further west at Springville. Regularly see close calls as drivers do not see the bus stopped as they come around the corner. Speed above the posted limit contributes to this. Living on skyline and commuting to work, I agree that speeding on skyline contributes to many close calls and accidents. Please help all our bus stops by adding measures to enforce the posted speed.

Speeding and passing inappropriately are very common ( and Dave) on Skyline

Skyline Boulevard between Springville and Germantown Road has become a race track at all times during the day and especially during the evening. The 35 mph speed zone is nothing more than a suggestion followed by very few individuals. The degree of drag racing on this stretch will eventually lead to a tragic death. It’s not a matter of if it’s just a matter of when. Skyline Boulevard has become a tragic road waiting to happen. The racers know that there is no police presence on skyline and it is open season any day and any night.

Live on skyline and supportive of cameras and a reduced speed limit

Every summer the unmuffled motorcycles show up on weekends and rip up and down skyline via Newberry & Hwy 30. I saw them hit and cut a dog entirely in half and leave. It was still alive and I had to kill it. I’ll never forgive them or the city for not doing anything after decades of this.

I live on Ramsey drive and think this is a great idea. People drive way too fast on skyline. It's a blind corner there. There's lots of pedestrians and animals. It's definitely a safety concern.

As more neighborhoods are being added, Skyline Blvd is becoming just that- often, a ‘blvd’. A speed bump on Skyline would make the street even safer

I run and walk my kids and dogs on the sidewalk along Skyline most days and see reckless driving every time. We really need a change or else we are all complicit in the loss of life that is surely to result.

People speed all the time here!

This intersection has been at high risk of accidents for years. Especially driving out from Reed Dr to Skyline Blvd is like “betting” every time. I strongly believe a speed camera installation contributes for safe traffic at this intersection not only for drivers but also bicyclists and pedestrians.

I frequently walk in the area of concern & frequently witness speeding cars along this stretch of Skyline. I can also hear cars racing along Skyline at night!

Also to deter motorcycle and car club racing on Skyline. You can hear them roar by at night.

This camera would benefit all populations. Other drivers, bikers, walkers, wildlife
