Dear All, I do not know if you are all aware but there was an incident at Peoples Park Tuesday 22nd January 2008 were a woman was needlessly "assaulted" at around 9.15pm. I am sure that you are all aware of the huge effort that has been made by the City Council in improving the Park and I think we can all agree that they have done a wonderful job. However it is unfortunate there is no decent lighting or security in place at the Park once darkness falls. I would like to see the Park as a safe place for people at anytime and I know that better quality lighting and security would ensure this. If there are no immediate improvements made we run the risk of allowing Peoples Park to become an area were incidents like this may become more frequent. If I have your support, I would be delighted if you would put your name on this petition which I have attached and forward this mail to any of your friends who live in the Waterford locality.
