I was out at the park again this evening and it is just getting pitch black so fast now which makes it impossible to see where the dogs are running or if I even have a bag for the cleanup. I have been emailing the parks department about the installation costs for those solar lights I saw online and while they are being slow to reply someone needs to fix this safety issue before someone trips in the dark.

I really never thought this would gain this much steam but look at us go. It is wild to think about everyone just wanting to walk their dogs after work in the dark because (let's face it) the current situation is actually kind of scary and definitely inconvenient.

Currently we have parents in the playground, fitness groups and many people using the park in the early evening having to use torches. Lights would not only be a convenience but also good for public safety as many people walk home from the bus stop through the park.
By the time I get home from working at South Brisbane, I struggle to make it to the dog park in time before it's dark. The alternative option is to walk or run my dog in the dimly lit streets. I would feel much safer going to the dog park in a publicly known space that provides my dog with adeqaute exercise. It would be greatly appreciated if some form of lighting could be installed here for such a well used dog park. Thank you, Simone.

We need to get some lights at the park for the people who finish work late.
Sometimes the only time to access the park is at dusk or after dark due to work commitments, especially in winter when daylight hours are limited. It is unsafe without lights at night. Lights would enable us to access the park with our dogs at all times throughout the year.
lights are much needed to make use of this great park, it's a great place for community members to come together, socialise and exercise ourselves and our pets. However it is too dark by the time we all get home from work which makes it difficult and sometimes a safety issue.
Lights in the dog park are a necessity for us. My wife and I both work until past dark, so we aren't able to bring our dog down until the weekend in the cooler months. We would love to be able to use this facility more.

Even just one street light would be so helpful in checking on your dogs behaviour at the park, as it is now dark so early you really need the light to be a responsible dog owner.
