Lack of appropriate lighting on Orford Park evokes people to stay away from the park at night time and may encourage anti-social behaviour due to noone being able to see what's occuring. By signing this petition, you will be discouraging young people from acting inappropriately and knowing that you're taking your children to a safe place and that no harm will occur, even in the daytime.
Sign this petition so we can show the council that here is support for making our childrens parks safer.
Its pitch black walking through there at night. Honestly feels so unsafe for anyone to use the park after 5pm. About time the council did something about it.

About time. Constant trouble with kids hanging around in the dark just because nobody can see them. Fix the lights already!!

I think this is a brilliant idea! Everybody has the right to go to the park in evening (even if it is just walking your dog) and feel safe - installing lights in Orford Park will definitely help that. At the moment I personally do not walk my dogs there at night time because it is too dangerous - there are gangs of young people drinking on the park and when finished - even throwing the bottles at and giving oral abuse to bypassers or dog owners!!!!! This is NOT acceptable. To stop this behaviour we desperately need lights and I am very certain that many many people will agree with me.
