The residents of Castlegate request an urgent assessment of the suitability of the pedestrian footpath and roadway at Castlegate, Richmond and its priority for repair / resurfacing works.
The condition of both has deteriorated significantly over the past few years and the entire footpath on both sides is now highly dangerous to use.
We regularly trip on the multiple broken, cracked, loose and uneven areas while out walking. At night it is even worse due to bad lighting and unseen trip hazards. There are several elderly residents in the street who struggle constantly and who have also fallen.
We implore Richmond council to please fix this urgently and advise when we can expect resurfacing to bring the footpath up to correct & safe standards
This is the second time in three years we have asked the council to re surface. Patchwork tarmac is not good enough. We need proper paving stones as in the surrou ding streets.
