It is time to look at providing a safe crossing facility for school children and users of St Georges Medical Centre to cross Musters Road, near the junction of George Road in West Bridgford. This is a busy road at peak times with an advisory speed limit of 20mph in place, which is often ignored. The crossing is required twice a day by school children at West Bridgford Infants School, and by many local residents visiting St Georges Medical Centre.

This is a very busy stretch of Musters Road, often with vehicles parked in places which reduce the visibility for road users to cross safely.

We call on the County Council to consider this issue, provide a pedestrian crossing, and thus enable parents, children, and the wider community to cross the road safely on this stretch of Musters Road.

There is no safe crossing point near to my son's nursery (The Playroom). It is a treacherous crossing given the speed at which oncoming vehicles travel and the parked vehicles on the road reduce visibility significantly. I am very anxious when navigating this crossing with my son.

This would be brilliant for the school children and also the patients visiting the GP surgery. Also, if the kerb could be dropped it would help pushchair and wheelchair users greatly.

Musters Road is dangerous for those crossing at George Road, many of whom are children, and a pedestrian crossing is long over due. It needn’t have traffic lights in my view. Musters Road is a ‘rat run’ that often sees drivers exceeding the speed limit. A 20mph speed limit should also be considered between the junctions with rectory road and Millicent Road.

We have witnessed at least one frightening near miss at this junction and frequently have to negotiate around large delivery vans and taxis parked on the double yellow lines in front of the pharmacy entrance. It is not safe to have to venture into the road to try and cross with small children.

I have to cross this road twice a day with a 5year old, three year old and a baby. It’s so dangerous as I have to walk out into the road to look past the park cars to see if traffic is coming and am Petrified my children will run out after me and e hit by a car. Lots of the traffic doesn’t abide by the 20mph advised limit

Please take us seriously. There was a lolly pop person previously assigned and they are not anymore, due to money constraints. That is a clear proof the need is there. You can't put a value in a child's life. Safe school crossing is a basic right for our children and in fact should have already been put in place since the establishment of the school.

A much needed addition on a busy road.
