Kaboom Town is one of the best Independence Day celebrations in our country. In years past the music enjoyed by all of us was beautifully patriotic and uplifting unfortunately, this year was different. Music had no patriotic message at all and many of us are very disappointed. In addition, the US is making fireworks now so there is no reason to import fireworks from a nation that does not value freedom as much as we do. We respectfully petition the Town of Addison Council to order the use of more patriotic music during next year's Independence Day celebration and to ONLY use American fireworks made by American hands.

The feedback I keep hearing from you all confirms that these celebrations should reflect our shared values. I am still working to get a direct response from the council about the shift in music and the origin of the fireworks. It is a slow process but we are not stepping back.

Seeing this grow makes the exhaustion feel heavy but purposeful. It is clear that many people feel the same emptiness when our traditions are stripped of their meaning.

What was the Town of Addison thinking? Surely they weren't thinking of area citizens who have supported this function from its inception; or those individuals, companies and investors who contribute to the tax base that underwrites this event; or local vendors who may benefit from the purchase of items used during this event. When will this be brought up at a Town Council meeting? Whoever managed this dropped the ball AND demonstrated a commitment to a personal agenda rather than to a patriotic community event that celebrates the birth of our nation.
We must have patriotic music and fireworks made in the USA to celebrate our national holiday of freedom each July 4th please!

Yes! We want more Star Spangled Banner, My country tis of thee, God Bless America, God bless the USA plus the military fight songs (that was nice this year)
