As someone who has grown up in Fishers, I personally have seen the city grow. I realize times have changed and that we are the same little town we once were. A lot of us don't have a say in what goes around the city but, this was the last straw. Our city has decided to END the beloved Fisher Freedom Festival, and I refuse to let them get away with this. The Freedom Festival is a tradition for most of us and we would like to share it with the future of the city. Younger families want to get the chance to share this event with their younger kids. It holds great memories in our hearts, and create new ones for so many. As a smaller city there isn't much to do around in the summer, except this. Everyone looks forward to this event. The festival bring so many benefits like volunteering for children and teens, it helps local businesses, and shares the skills of local artists. it brings people in from all over the state, it brings and great revenue, and smiles to so many faces. As well it also brings together the community to celebrate our great country. So if you would please take some time to sign our petition, share it with your friends, tag city officials, and help us save our traditions. Thank you so very much!

The scale of this response has secured us a formal meeting with the city council chairperson. I am currently organizing our presentation to address the revenue decline and local business impact. We move to the administrative phase of this process now.

This festival brings people in the community together like almost nothing else does. People share food, art, stories, performances... All while celebrating the birth of the United States of America. Looking up at those fireworks at the end of the night is something people remember their entire lives. This festival should be a SOLID part of the future of our city, because it was such a solid part of our past and our foundation.
A 29 year tradition should continue just like our City of Indianapolis has several like the Annual Tree Lighting, 4th of July Firework Show, the Monument Circle Church Strawberry Festival, etc. Fishers is a City with some of their own unique traditions and the longevity of them can be continued by big sponsors such as IKEA, TopGolf and donations from the residents. If it is important to most, it is important to our community. Be creative in getting sponsors and find a way to make it happen!
My family and I look forward to this event each year! This is a wonderful festival that definitely has things for all ages and should not be canceled!
Been going since I was born don't ruin this

If we can spend money on innovations, we can spend money to keep the traditions that made us the best city in the nation.

Although tradition should not be followed blindly, it represents a connection to our past and is a part of our childhood. The Fishers Freedom Festival has been a tradition we, the residents in Fishers, have enjoyed for decades. Please do not take that it away from those who call it tradition, and the young kids who may call it their tradition own one day
