The board officially denied parole for Darrell Freeman today. Bernard should never have been taken from us but knowing this man will remain behind bars provides a small measure of peace for our family. Thank you for standing with us to ensure justice was served.

On April 21, 2014 Bernard Darris Sherrod had been dating a girl for about a week. Darrell Freeman had previously dated her. They got into an altercation. It was over and Bernard thought that was all that would happen. The girl called him and told him that he needed to come back because he forgot his ear buds. When he went back Darrell Freeman shot him. Bernard ran in a closet and Freeman shot up the closet. Bernard was struck 2 times and later died from his injuries.
Darrell Freeman was convicted of Manslaughter and Felony with a gun. He was sentenced to 20 years in prison. He entered prison on November 21,2014. He has not completed half of his sentence.
We, the undersigned, STONGLY OPPOSE parole for Darrell Freeman. Justice demands that he serve the full sentence that he was given.

Seeing these names stack up brings me right back to the night we lost Bernard and it reminds me that he is not forgotten. I have been spending my nights printing these pages to take them to the board because they need to see the faces and stories behind each one.

Please do the right thing do not let this inmate back in the streets the system is showing that this is okay to do well it’s not please don’t fail our community this is not okay not even with a Change or chance with the system .give this family justice no mother should have to visit their love ones in the cemetery while killers are out having fun .
My sister still suffers to this day from this devastating crime that this individual committed and I'm pretty sure he's not rehabilitated (check his jacked) it's a must he remains there so he can truly realize the pain suffering heartache anger sadness devastation heaviness on his mother's heart that he's caused.

He killed someone on purpose and sought him out after he ran to make sure he would die. Please don't set him free. Our children and elders are out here.
He killed my lil cuzin from behind he aint even serve 10yrs yet it not fair to his mother, should she have to fear for her life and her daughters life!!

He tried to hide my nephews body after her shot him so that he could die . They give u 100 years for drugs and only 7 for a life where is the justices in that
