RE: Arthur Lee Lockhart ADC# 106199 Hearing date: 12/19/2024
On March 2, 2014 Steven Miller was leaving a night club when he got into an altercation with Arthur Lockhart. Lockhart then stabbed Steven 3 times and cut his throat.
At the time Arthur Lockhart was on parole for Battery, Robbery and Drugs.
He has had disciplinary violations including Battery and Threats to Inflict Injury while in prison.
On September 8, 2015 he was sentenced to 40 years for 2nd Degree Murder and Tampering with Physical Evidence. He has not even served half of his sentence.
We, the undersigned, Strongly OPPOSE, parole for Arthur Lockhart. Justice demands that he serve the full sentence given to him.

I keep looking at Steven's photo and remembering the life that was stolen from us. Preparing for this hearing is exhausting but knowing that so many of you demand he serves his full time keeps me moving forward.

Seeing this level of support brings me back to the moment we lost Steven and the hollow feeling that justice might just slip away. This momentum proves that people still care about keeping a dangerous man behind bars where he belongs. Seeing so many people agree makes me feel like we are finally being heard.

My daughter lives in Arkansas, and I believe this man, would be a danger to society if released considering the totality of the information at hand.
This has profoundly affected this family and after reading what he did he has no business being anywhere but where he is at.
Eligible for parole in just 10 years for such a violent offense? Parole should not even be on the table.
As severe of attack that Arthur Lee Lockhart did on Steven Miller , especially cutting his throat, Arthur Lee Lockhart should serve the full sentence.
He should never be allowed parole due to committing this type of crime when already being on parole!
This is a very tragic story she needs to be held accountable..
He should stay in prison
