RE: Cody Whitten
ADC# 149298 Hearing date: May 9, 2024

On August 14, 2016, Cody Duncan and Cody Whitten were at the same apartment. Cody Whitten shot Cody Duncan in the head. Cody Whitten said the gun accidently went off. He said that there was only one bullet in the gun. After investigation it was discovered that the gun was fully loaded. The state medical examiner ruled this was homicide due to a gunshot wound to the head.
Cody Whitten was convicted of manslaughter and sentenced to 30 years in prison. He went to prison on January 14, 2011.
We, the undersigned, Strongly OPPOSE, parole for Cody Whitten. Justice demands that he serve the full sentence given to him.

He lied about the gun being empty and now he wants out early? Keep him behind bars where he belongs. Justice for Cody Duncan.

He deserves to serve a longer sentence rather than 12 years, he took a life. He needs to serve his full sentence, he'll become a hibitual offender.

He should serve 100% of his sentence as decided by a jury of his peers.
