Hi Palazzo Bernardo Owners:
Many fellow Owners have expressed concern with current management of Board initiated projects, most notably tree/ shrubbery removal throughout the community. In order to provide additional time for the appropriate review of a project plan which takes into consideration tree health, lighting safety, overall landscape aesthetics, and cost we call for the below items:
1. An immediate stop work for all tree and shrubbery removal.
2. A new election to be held for Board positions at the October 16, 2019 Board meeting.
We also ask Owners please attend the October 16, 2019 Board meeting in order to ensure all voices and opinions are heard.

The feedback regarding our current landscaping projects continues to highlight a shared desire for better oversight and fiscal responsibility. I am currently working to ensure that our concerns are properly compiled for presentation at the upcoming meeting.

The steady growth of this petition confirms that many residents share a desire for more transparent management of our community projects. This momentum indicates that our request for a pause on landscaping changes and a new election has broad support among the ownership.

I am an owner here. I bought in because it was beautiful and green. I am not happy with our courtyard or the front gate area. Our courtyard looks like we live in a warzone. The front gate area does not do justice the the beauty of our complex. Who is responsible for this? People are outraged by what is happening here. My HOA dues are very high....the highest of any place we looked at. When will this be fixed and how much will it cost?
One of the most appealing things about our community were the beautiful trees and landscaping. It had gone downhill the last year or so (with less watering and removal of grass) and now this latest project has left the community without one of its best features. Our home in particular has lost shade on the west front door leaving it hotter every afternoon on top of the ugly eyesore of a stump right next to our front entry. I feel like you've taken away my property value with this project versus maintaining it; let alone enhancing it.
The landscape looms like hell. This used to be beautiful here. Are they replacing the trees they took out? What's the plan?
This is a sharp decline of our property's appearance in the last year. As a new homeowner, I am concerned what this will do to my property values.
I understand the need to save water, but cutting down the beautiful palm trees? We would have made a lot of extra money digging them up and selling them. They are going for top dollar because people are putting them in because they can live on less water. I would think a few of the carrot trees (the trees in the courtyard) would have been a smarter removal without ruining the beauty of the courtyards and entry way.
33, 34 and 35....the Board must replace our removed trees. This is appalling and we are ouraged.
This community deserves a professionally designed landscape. As it had before the bushes, grass, and trees were removed. Leaving stumps of old growth trees and bare dirt, while removing and changing cohesive landscape design elements will reduce our home values. As of 10/4/19 there are no professionally designed plans to repair the damaged courtyards or to enhance the property and it's beauty. This is not a backyard project, this is a master planned community in southern California worth over $25,000,000. We deserve a more cohesive and planned approach with community outreach and input. I would respectfully ask the board to stop all work until a professional landscape designer can assist with a professional redesign of the courtyards and common areas. I would request that an independent arborist assess the safety of the trees. We should not rely on the assessment by the owner of the tree removal service which is contracted for the work.

I am in full agreement with item 1, and hope the Board meeting on October 16 is well attended, but I am not ready to call for the removal of the current Board members and the election of a new members. I would like to think the current Board members will be open to slowing things down so that other viable options can be considered before any more cutting down of trees is done.
