The Invista Centre is finally opening its doors. I am drained from this fight but grateful we kept at it until the end. We won this one together.

Our arenas have been closed since March due to covid-19 precautions. On June 26, the Government of Ontario authorized arenas to open allowing 10 participants while respecting guidelines. Then on July 17, we entered Stage 3 of the Province reopening and arenas may now have 50 participants.

The City of Kingston has decided to keep the INVISTA CENTRE closed until at least September 14.

Sign this petition to help open our arenas now!

We have sent a letter to the Mayor and City Council and will be sending another update soon.

We hit 250 signatures today. It is exhausting to keep fighting when the doors stay locked but seeing this number reminds me why I started.

So I'll distanci g is easily possible in the stands. Nobody watches from the lobby. Hand sanitizers at the door. Masks on inside the building. Signage to maintain a 2m distance from others, players arrive fully dressed and just put sktes on and leave fully dressed.

We have been driving out of town since June 20th multiple times a week to train in another city for our Son who competed at Skate Canada Challenge last November. Looking forward to availability of some local training ice. Thanks Colleen & John Lockwood

My kids miss ice time, I recognize that we won't be going back to the same hockey we know and love but let's guve them the opportunity to skate - build confidence and conditioning and a degree of normalcy that kids require.

Have you forgotten the skaters? They need their ice time just like the gym people need theirs. Registration for the fall will be coming up soon and to keep the skaters in shape they need time NOW. The protocols will be in place and keep them safe. They sure would be safer than the restaurants and bars.

Open Kingston arenas if you want to keep the city safer! Many many individuals are travelling back and forth daily to TO and Ottawa for ice time. It’s working well in Ottawa, their numbers remain low and the kids are active, happy and safe! @cityofkingston, our city has many elite level athletes, and beyond, be proud and support them!

Rinks are opening everywhere. Ottawa has several multipad facilities open and a few kms away, Garineau has had ice for a month now. No reason why Kingston cannot follow the same protocals and do it safely. That os a big facility and can easily be adapted.
