Dear Brother and Sir,
The membership of Local 904 have concerns relating to International's decision to place our local under temporary supervision. It is our position that to restore democratic procedures and autonomy to Local 904 that our duly elected president and business manager John Flaherty should be restored to his office with full authority; that an election be called to fill the positions of the seven members who lied to General President Callahan and the membership. That monitorship and supervision end. We respectfully ask that our democratic decision be upheld.
We understand that International has planned to hold a hearing on April 12, 2017 to assess the need to place local 904 under full supervision. We also understand that the fate of our autonomy will be decided by three business managers. The membership feel that to in order for our rights to be fully protected, and for our interests to be the main focus of any hearing that the following is necessary:
That the hearing take place in St. John's, NL in a venue that can accommodate at least 100 members.
That an independent arbitrator adjudicate the proceedings.
That the arbitrator be chosen from the rosters currently used by local 904.
That local 904 provide suspended business manager and president John Flaherty with independent legal counsel of his choice to defend local 904's autonomy at the hearing.
That the legal counsel for our business manager can call witnesses and subpoena documents.
That witnesses will testify under oath.
That witnesses are subject to cross examination.
That the affairs of local 904 will remain in caretaker status until such time as autonomy can be returned.
That the International shall not make expenditures beyond what is necessary for ordinary payroll and expenses.
That a check log of all expenditures of Local 904 and all associated accounts from March 20, 2017 are to be made available to business manager Flaherty through an accountant of his choice.
That a check log will be provided weekly to the above.
That the International not enact policies or procedures, nor change the legal framework of any entity under the control of local 904.
That International post all notices to the local 904 webpage.

Seeing all this movement happen so fast honestly leaves me a bit breathless since I really just put this out there hoping someone might actually listen. It feels like the tide is turning and people are finally realizing that we just want our autonomy back and honestly it is about time that someone paid attention to what we are saying.

We need Clarity, and with our new President Mr.John Flarety we were starting to get That
I am in favor of the intervention by the International. The betterment of our Local 904 moving forward is of upmost importance to us all. Im supporting our elected President Mr John Flaherty. The basic principals and foundation that make a union strong is to be protected. I trust all partys involved now from here on in come to the right resolve in this matter. Thats why Im signing.
Having john Flaherty removed from office would be a huge mistake and loss for this union. He is the kind of president that makes members proud to be an OE.
Reinstate the team I voted for this action by the international union is unjustified
I voted for a change for the better ! This is far from the better ! Don't know what the international is trying to hide but it seems BIG by the actions they have taken !

Good luck, there's so much obvious corruption going on here that they will never let us or anyone else ever get to the bottom of it, including john flaherty.
