The municipality officially withdrew the proposed levy increase after our pushback. I am exhausted by this fight but relieved that we managed to hold them accountable. We need to stay vigilant because their financial record gives us plenty of reason to keep watching them closely.

PLEASE SIGN BY THURSDAY, 18 MAY AS OBJECTION ENDS FRIDAY 19 MAY 09H00.

We the undersigned hereby strongly object to the additional R20 infrastructure levy as proposed by TWK Municipality.

We have no guarantee that the money will in fact be spent on infrastructure given TWKM's record of financial maladministration and failure to collect monies due

(TWKM collections already down R29m in just four months.)

The emails I receive about this levy are full of exhaustion because we are all tired of footing the bill for a failing system. I am spending my evenings documenting every instance of mismanagement to ensure they cannot ignore our concerns when the deadline arrives.

TWK have increased my property in Fynbos Estate valuation by 200%!!! and refuse to reduce it. The service they are offering to provide at Fynbos is disgraceful. Now they want a levy as well??

TWK is not following due process as per council / municipal procedures. I oppose the introduction of this extra tariff and oppose approval thereof. As it inevitably will increase yearly, from (initially) a mere R20, it will put more and mere pressure on the poor, who already battle to survive.

Hell NO!! TWK is notorious for misuse of funds and wasteful expenditure... how on earth did Land Invasions in Greyton alone cost TWK R5 million, they can barely maintain roads with our high rates and taxes, start by restructuring their salaries!

I am most happy to pay rates to a municipality that administrates these funds efficiently. Any changes should be accompanied by a comprehensive plan, with Check & balances to start a new way forward. Not simply add on charges.

The top section of Nerina road is unusable for anything but a 4x4. We have been to council several times requesting that something be done to improve the drainage and the road itself- to no avail.

I would far rather contribute to a Special Rates levy administered outside of TWK. TWK have proved that the money Greyton contributes does not improve service delivery. Take a walk thru town, chat to the residents and feel it for yourself.

I object to this proposed levy.

Strenuously object -- there is no justification for charging more when there is clearly huge waste and inefficiency within TWK.
