I feel these flats would encroach on the children's privacy when playing outside. Parking would become a nightmare as well

I strongly object to this development. As you are already aware Thornton Road is a very busy main road. At school drop offs and pick ups the road is heavily congested and has very limited parking. To situate a block of flats right next to a school would not only cause major disruption through out development but long terms issues congestion, safety of our children, noise. Furthermore the flats would be directly overlooking the school play area which I find inappropriate and raises further concerns regarding our children's safety.

The road is already congested and parking restricted. Second, with one school next door and another a very short distance away, this would compromise children's safety when crossing the road.

I strongly object to the proposals on the grounds of building density - the plans are markedly over-developed - and traffic. To site such a large number of dwellings with all the the traffic that they would bring next to the pedestrian entrance of a primary age school is potentially extremely dangerous.

I strongly object to this development in the grounds of the proximity to a primary school with young children who deserve privacy, the current lack of parking on this road to cope with the 2 existing schools and the noise that a block of flats would bring to a residential area.

This development is wholly inappropriate in this location directly next to the school. The area is at risk of becoming over developed, and will it add to the current traffic and parking problems.

Though the modified design proposals for this revised application have improved the appearance of the development many of the points raised regarding the previous application still apply all relating fundamentally to the proposed overdevelopment of the site. The neighbourhood requirement is for affordable family housing. The proposal for 22 one and two bed flats is not suitable. Are any of these flats to be affordable? The development is situated beside a Grade 2 listed building (The White House School). However the form, scale and location of the proposed building within the site dominates, concealing completely previous views of the school from the north and changing the historic context. It is not a realistic assumption that the development would be truly car free as public transport is not actually that close by with the exception of a few bus routes. 22 new flats would bring a large number of additional cars to the area. Thornton Road has a fluctuating car requirement which varies by time of day and day of the week to suit the community needs of 2 local primary schools and a church. At times the road can appear empty with many available parking spaces however at peak times this is not the case. Additional residents parking will cause congestion and potentially unsafe road conditions which is of particular concern for the local school children. To maximise the number of flats the proposed development has both lower and upper ground floors with the access via an external stair and lift at the upper ground floor level. Reliance on an external lift for access (eg for wheelchair or pushchair) is not ideal as there is no contingency for access for all when it the lift is out of use (for repair or maintenance). There are a number of blocks of flats along Thornton Road, mainly 1960s ex - local authority, however these blocks are set within larger plots with well kept gardens laid to grass with designated on-site parking, and are usually set well

traffic and parking around the school will be unbearable.
