The residents of Thirlestane Road and Spottiswoode Road object to the proposed plans for the James Gillespies redevelopment.
This development would have an unacceptable impact on the residential amenity of the adjoining occupants, both within their homes and their private garden space, because of the over-dominance of the large pool and sports buildings, the visual intrusion and interlooking caused by the many first floor windows, the artificial lighting and potential noise from the location of the playground and the car park. The design is not in keeping with the conservation area. As such, we strongly object to the proposed development in its current form.

The traffic and parking situation is already a nightmare. Adding this massive building will make it impossible for us.
Total eyesore. Edinburgh planning need to listen to the residents for once instead of pushing through these concrete monstrosities.
Ridiculous design. Who thought it was a good idea to put a massive sports block right next to these houses? Keep the conservation area protected.
So much noise and light pollution. My garden will be like a fishbowl with those windows staring straight in. Just no.
This is completely out of scale for our street. It will overlook our gardens and ruin the character of the whole area. Think about the people who live here!
